It would be just as deceitful to suggest that the games have always been designed to instill an obsession with hitting the power limit in their players. For those with a tendency toward gambling addiction, or towards the addictive characteristics of Diablo's item gameor, perhaps either of them -- the legendary crest system can be exploitative and potentially very damaging.

In theory, the auction house was in place to stop cheating and scamming that beset trading within Diablo 2.
